The UT Climate Centre is pleased to announce that Dr. Barbara Kump, Associate Professor in the Entrepreneurship & Technology Management section at BMS, has been appointed as the University of Twente’s ambassador to the KIN Pact. In her role, Barbara will facilitate the University of Twente’s involvement in the KIN Pact, ensuring that UT’s expertise contributes meaningfully to national climate transition efforts.
About the Pact
The KIN Pact, part of the Dutch Climate Research Initiative KIN, is a community in which civil society organisations, governments, business and science come together to jointly work on accelerating (climate) transitions. Pact members subscribe to the mission of the KIN and the principles of the Pact: bringing the most urgent and relevant issues to the table, sharing knowledge and above all, taking action together. Its core mission is to connect, deepen, and apply climate-related knowledge to address urgent societal challenges. The Pact focuses on three key objectives:
- Connect people across society
- Identify and prioritise knowledge questions
- Unlock and share knowledge
Commitment to sustainability
Barbara’s appointment reflects UT’s strong commitment to sustainability and its active role in shaping a just and inclusive climate future. Her research on organizational change and sustainability transitions, combined with her commitment to engaged scholarship, makes her ideally suited to guide UT’s contributions to this ambitious and collaborative effort. She will help identify relevant knowledge gaps, foster transdisciplinary collaboration, and support the development of impactful, practice-oriented initiatives.
