MoneyWise: Turning habbits and choices into a financial change

MoneyWise: Turn financial choices into change

Building better financial habbits with Small Steps & Big Change Approach

The tool:

The goal of the hackathon is to develop an interactive tool that motivates people with a low socioeconomic status to actively improve their financial situation. The tool will complement a short, animated video, similar to those on Steffie.nl, as well as a course addressing stress, smoking, and financial challenges. The target group consists of vulnerable residents of Rotterdam who struggle to make ends meet and are in poor health.

The tool could take the form of a simple online application that provides personalized advice after users complete a short questionnaire. it could also be designed as a basic AI tool for questions and answers. During the hackathon, students will have to think about how to best design this while keeping the target group in mind, who often have low literacy or limited digital skills. This means the tool should be clear and easy to use. It should be in Dutch. Students will be provided with the necessary background information and guidance on key considerations for designing the tool during the hackathon.

 Student profile:

Students with experience in programming and AI will have the opportunity to practice their skills by building a practical tool, while simultaneously contributing to a meaningful solution that supports vulnerable communities.

Skills such as creative thinking and clear communication are also required. Being a good team player and being able to quickly produce a prototype from ideas are crucial.

The hackathon is a fun chance to work together in teams and gain hands-on experience, while also competing for a first and second prize.

Hackathon detail:
