On 8 December 2020, the ninth Unmanned Cargo Aircraft Conference was organized (online) by the Platform Unmanned Cargo Aircraft (PUCA). On behalf of PUCA and the UT, Hans Heerkens (assistant professor at IEBIS and founder of PUCA) and Dennis Prak (assistant professor at IEBIS and chairman of PUCA) presented their vision on the future of Unmanned Cargo Aircraft (UCA) and their place in the development of data-driven and sustainable logistics networks. The conference attracted an international audience of around 50 participants.

Other speakers were representatives of Sabrewing, Elroy Air, OostNL, NASA Aeronautics Research Institute, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Robot Experts Finland, The International Air Cargo Association, VillageReach, and Dawn Aerospace.

It became clear that UCA are around the corner, with manufacturers aiming to deliver their first aircraft next year and UCA potential for logistics being researched and recognized.
