Jeannette van Manen graduated at Radboud University Nijmegen (Biomedical Health Sciences) as an epidemiologist in 1994. She has experience in conducting and supervising scientific research as well as in project management.

In her work Jeannette van Manen focused on quality of life and co-morbidity in patients with chronic disease. She participated in research projects on patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, end-stage renal disease, and patients with psychiatric disorders. She has a special interest in methodology.

Currently she is involved in research on (psychotropic) medication in elderly with a focus on:

  • Risks and side effects
  • Prescription policy
  • Safety issues in organization of care
