During the 24th Annual Conference of the International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association (IPSERA), the first Dutch Association for Purchasing Management (NEVI Zorg) Best Healthcare Paper Award was awarded to the research of Precivil Carrera and Sukran Katik of the Health Technology and Services Research department and Fredo Schotanus of the Department Technology Management and Supply. According to the jury, composed of Prof. Dirk Jan Kamann of the University of Pannonia in Hungary, Dr. Erik Van Raay of the Erasmus University Rotterdam and Hans Bax, Chairman of NEVI Zorg, the paper “Cooperative Purchasing of Pacemakers by Dutch Hospitals: What Are the Determinants, Cost-Savings and Perceived non-monetary Benefits?” was the unanimous choice since it focused on one of the focuses on one of the major challenges in health: the financial sustainability of health care. The award was conferred at conference dinner on 31st March 2015 in Amsterdam. IPSERA is a multi-disciplinary network of academics and practitioners dedicated to the development of knowledge concerning purchasing and supply Management. With over 6000 members, NEVI Zorg is one of the world’s leading purchasing management organizations.
