Maarten IJzerman has been appointed as acting Scientific Director of MIRA as of 1 September 2013.
This temporary appointment is as yet for half a year.
He will combine his new function with his position as professor and head of the department of Health Technology and Services Research (HTSR).
Prof. IJzerman has been connected with MIRA in many research projects for years. As scientific director of Roessingh Research and Development (RRD) (2000-2007),
he strengthened the relationship with MIRA. Currently, he is mainly involved in MIRA’s SRO Imaging & Diagnostics.
Maarten IJzerman has an adjunct position at Case Western University in Cleveland. Since February 2013 he is project leader at CRP Santé in Luxembourg, where he
is responsible for initiating and developing a ‘Center for Health Economics and Personalized Medicine’. In 1 July 2013, he joined the board of directors of the International Society
for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR).
The Executive Board has decided to form an Appointment Advisory Committee (Benoemingsadviescommisse BAC) for the appointment of a new scientific director of MIRA. Soon, the members of the BAC will be known.
