Dr. Llewellyn E. (Lew) van Zyl (1985) is a senior researcher with the Department of Human Resource Management at Twente University and a registered psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). He has completed a Doctorate degree in the field of Industrial Psychology, specialising in the development and evaluation of Positive Psychological Interventions aimed at enhancing human happiness at the North-West University in South Africa. He also holds a Master of Commerce, an Honours and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology, which were obtained from the North-West University (cum laude) at the top of his class. Llewellyn is a respected researcher, with contributions to peer-reviewed journals, chapters in international peer-reviewed books, and has conducted presentations at both national and international conferences. Psychai Management Consulting (Pty Ltd), where he specialises in the development and implementation of e-human potential development strategies and e-interventions. He was also involved with the North-West University (VTC) as an Associate Professor and Researcher in Industrial and Organisational Psychology. Llewellyn was involved with the South African Journal of Industrial Psychology as a Section Editor, and hosted a special edition on positive organisational behaviour. As of April 2012, he has taken over the role as Co-Editor for the South African Journal of Industrial Psychology and has been nominated to take over the role as editor in 2018. In 2016, he applied for a National Research Foundation Rating in South Africa and is awaiting the outcome thereof. He also serves on various editorial boards for journals such as the Journal of leadership and organizational studies and the journal for transdisciplinary research. Furthermore, as of July 2014 he has served as the President (/Elect /Past president) of the Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa. He has extensive experience within the tertiary educational environment (as a lecturer and researcher), as well as within the private and public sectors (as a consultant). Llewellyn has a passion for Online Positive Psychological Interventions. Specifically, strengths-based people development, strengths-based coaching psychology, happiness at work, e-Health interventions and social media.
