Dr. Huub Ruel

Dr. Huub Ruël’s research focuses on HRM competences for international business such as competences for firm internationalisation and international trade promotion (commercial diplomacy), and competences for operating in an international business environment such as international business diplomacy and multi-stakeholder management (business diplomacy).

Huub Ruël is professor of at The Hague Hospitality Business School, and doing research on International Business, Diplomacy and (tech-enabled) HR/Talent management in the hospitality industry or in contexts where hospitality makes a difference. He has worked at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, University of Utrecht, at Kuwait-Maastricht Business School (Kuwait) and at the American University of Beirut (Lebanon).

Huub Ruël publishes in peer-reviewed international journals, in books and in professional journals. He is editorial board member of the International Journal of Diplomacy and Economy, The journal of business environment, and of the Diplomat Magazine.
