The ESM Reporting Guidelines group aims to establish standardized reporting guidelines for Experience Sampling Method (ESM) studies. By defining clear and consistent guidelines for data collection, analysis, and reporting, we aim to improve the transparency, reproducibility, and comparability of ESM research outcomes.
Currently, the working group is conducting a scoping review of existing guidelines for reporting on experience sampling methodology studies. The review will present information on the commonalities and differences in current guidelines, as well as the gaps identified.
We will systematically review studies on guidelines for reporting on experience sampling methodology studies to answer the following three research questions:
- What are the main commonalities in current guidelines for reporting on experience sampling methodology studies and what categories about reporting (e.g., compliance) are listed in these guidelines?
- What are the main differences in current guidelines for reporting on experience sampling methodology studies?
- What are the gaps in the current guidelines for reporting on experience sampling methodology studies?
