EER MSc art. 3.5

The examination board of the programme decides whether a student may take part in an flexible degree programme as stipulated in article 7.3h. The examination board assesses whether the programme is appropriate and consistent within the domain of the programme and whether the level is appropriate in the light of the final attainment targets of the programme.

Flexible degree programme

When you wish to compose a flexible bachelor or master programme you need to discuss this with the programme management (programme coordinator and/or study advisor) before sending in the request to the examination board. When the programme consists of courses from different degree programmes, the examination board has to confirm to which degree programme the flexible programme belongs.

If the degree programme usually assigns supervisors for the thesis, in case of a flexible programme you have to find a supervisor by yourself.

The following should be included in your request:

  • the composed programme needs to have a well-argued cohesion, also related to the intended subject of the thesis. A table with all courses (including course codes and EC’s) must be included in the request
  • you need to motivate why this fexible programme is relevant to you
  • you need to motivate in what way you can fulfill the final attainment targets of the degree programme with the courses of the flexible programme
  • the flexible programme must have been discussed with the main degree programme
