Maia Lordkipanidze holds a Master's Degree in the field of Environmental Management and Policy (2001-2002) from the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University, Sweden, and BA degree from the Institute of Ecology, Environment and Agribusiness at Georgia Academy of Sciences (Georgia) in the field of Accounting and Audit in Agribusiness (1994-1999). Her current research project aims at assessing the governance context to enhance resilience in nature areas. The main question is to what extent the governance regime context supports or hampers implementation of adaptive measures towards fostering resilience of these areas. She has been involved in the DROP project, “benefits of governance in DROught adaPtation” in the frame of the Interreg IVB North West Europe program. Prior to her research, she worked for the Province of Friesland in Leeuwarden, at the department of the European programmes and projects, undertaking research, advising and assisting with the development of project proposals related to the regional development and innovations. Moreover, she has worked for the Cartesius Institute, the Institute for Sustainable Innovations of the Dutch technical universities (Delft, Eindhoven and Twente) and has been involved in the EU Interreg projects related to protected areas and sustainable innovations.
