Leila holds a Master’s degree (cum laude) in Information Science from University of Tehran. She developed her skills in web based information systems and developing online databases in her MSc dissertation research under the topic of “A development plan for virtual reference services for the Iran Consortium on National Content”. In 2013, Leila received a full scholarship for Post-graduate Diploma course in Geo-informatics, Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), University of Twente. She did several projects on design and implementation of spatial database, spatial information analysis (i.e. network, raster), and webGIS during this program. As the final project, she designed and implemented a pilot real-time pollution monitoring system.
From February 2014, she joined CSTM, University of Twente in COMPLEX EU FP7 project as a researcher, under supervision of Dr. Filatova, Dr. Voinov, and Prof.dr. Bressers. The main content of her PhD research is the design and implementation of an Agent-based energy market model to study transition to low-carbon economy.
