Research

Marks main research interest is the process of communication, specifically in the context of organizations. He studies work meaning and the ways people make sense of the content and significance of their work. This leads to research projects on (professional) identity dynamics, sociomateriality (i.e. the entanglement of identity work and technology), identification processes, job crafting and positive organizational scholarship.

Further, he is interested in philosophy of science, again primarily within the context of communication studies. Research projects and paradigms include: history of ideas, actor-network theory, storytelling, Martin Buber and life history.
