Currently Lidwien van de Wijngaert is an assistant professor at Twente University of Technology, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, Enschede in The Netherlands. Previously she worked at the Institute for Information and Computing Sciences at Utrecht University and the Telematica Instituut where she performed her dissertation research on the relation between task characteristics and new media choice. She studied Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam. Fields of interest are:
- Electronic government from a user perspective
- The process of diffusion of innovations in terms of adoption and use of new services and technologies
- Developing a method for meta-analysis using network analysis
- Diffusion of Innovations
- Organizational Communication
- Research methods and Statistics
Together with the Telematica Institute a research project is conducted that aims at a comparison of pilots that are aimed at influencing civilians’ channel choice. The ‘Kanalen in Balans’- project (‘Channels in balance’ – www.kanaleninbalans.nl) is a combined research initiative with partners from government and academia. The project aims to find solutions for the multichannel management problems of governmental organizations.
For the ministry of Economic Affairs we research is conducted ragarding the diffusion on HDTV in The Netherlands. In this research project that will lead to a dissertation, both the supply and demand side of the HDTV market is examined. This research project is conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Information and Computing Sciences of Utrecht University.
Together with the University of Gent and The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision we perform a research project regarding release of the Dutch audio-visual heritage. This research is funded by ICTRegie (NWO).
