My research is on resilience properties of the socio-technical system (STS) and ways to measure and quantify them for real-time operations. Although the developed theory is applicable to STSs with control rooms in general, I experiment at a rail control post of ProRail. For the experiments I am developing a real-time prototype, the Resiliencer, presenting relative movements of the operating state towards its boundaries – performance, safety and workload. Team-reflection with analysis functions of the Resiliencer, makes resilience-related knowledge explicit and stimulates learning and anticipation. The theory, method and interface design (an HMI-R) are verified and validated in real-operations. The results show a contribution to resilience of the STS.
