Short biography

Renze graduated for the Master in Public Administration at the University of Twente in 2007. Here after, he briefly joined CHEPS to work on several projects after which he continued his education by enrolling in the Erasmus Mundus – European Master in Higher Education (HEEM), which was hosted by the University of Oslo, the University of Tampere, and the University of Averio. After writing his master thesis on the academic attractiveness of countries to international students at the University of Bath and finishing the HEEM-programme, Renze joined the Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education (Nuffic) as a researcher mainly focusing on the international education markets, in 2010. Renze rejoined CHEPS in 2013. Renze’s research interests lie in the internationalisation of higher education, student choices & motivation, graduate employability, university rankings, university governance, and higher education system development.
