*From 2020 onwards University of Twente changed its rounding system from whole grade numbers to half-grade numbers. It was implemented in the thesis grading in 2021.
Thesis carousel
In May and June 2023 we initiated and performed a so-called thesis carousel. This carousel had three goals:
- to ensure our theses are assessed in a consistent way;
- to generate data on assessment to discuss with the Examination Board.
- to use this data in talks with (future) supervisors about the thesis assessment process, and to improve this process.
The results of the thesis carousel suggest a good level of consistency between the original supervisors and the re-assessment, and provided opportunities to further improve consistency. A description of the carousel can be found here.
