Terms & Conditions Autumn Challenge


  1. Applications can only take place via the website by submitting the completed online application form along with the requested documentation. 
  2. By submitting the application form the participant declares to have received these regulations and in addition, declares himself/herself in agreement with its contents. 
  3. Registration closes on the 15th of September 2021 at 23.59 (CEST). These regulations may be deviated from if decided by the organisers. 

Placement and Admission 

  1. All received applications will be reviewed by an admission committee appointed by the organisers. Admission will be made primarily on the basis of the applicant’s motivation letter, their current study programme and activities and not their grades.  
  2. The University of Twente reserves the right to test the participant’s starting level in order to assess whether it fits the required level (based on the admission criteria). If the University of Twente finds that the starting level is insufficient, the University of Twente may decide not to admit the participant to the programme. 
  3. We act in good faith to provide you with access to your personal information and to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it does not otherwise need to be retained by law or for evaluation purposes. Furthermore we may use your email address for communication purposes. Our general privacy statement for the university is valid for Autumn Challenge as well.

Changes in the content of the programme 

  1. The University of Twente and Autumn Challenge reserve the right to make any changes to the content and activities of the programme if deemed and decided necessary. Participants will be notified via email as soon as possible.  

Cancellation by the University of Twente 

  1. The University of Twente and Autumn Challenge reserve the right to cancel the programme. The University of Twente and Autumn Challenge will inform participants either in writing or by email in case of  cancellation due to lack of interest, low registrations or other reasons after the first week of September 2021 (8th of September 2021). Participants should keep this in mind when making their plans and registration.
  2. If in the opinion of the University of Twente and Autumn Challenge placement or admission is not possible or eligible, or if the University of Twente and Autumn Challenge have cancelled the programme, the registration will be annulled without any costs and any fee already paid (only valid for external learners) will be reimbursed as soon as possible. 

Cancellation by the participant 

  1. Costs will be owed in the event of cancellation or if the participant interrupts the programme or ends it prematurely.

Final Provisions 

  1. In those cases for which the terms and conditions of registration do not provide, the director of the University of Twente and Autumn Challenge will decide in reasonableness and in fairness. 
  2. Any disputes resulting from the agreement between the participant and the University of Twente Autumn Challenge that cannot be resolved in mutual consultation will be brought for the Executive Board of the University of Twente.
