Is your student board or committee looking for support for your initiatives?
The Alumni & Development Office (ADO) offers advice, collaboration opportunities, and practical guidance to help you build meaningful connections with the UT alumni community and make the best use of the support of the Twente University Fund.
Everything your board needs to connect with alumni in one place

Explore how alumni can contribute to your group
Whether you're just starting to explore alumni involvement or you're ready to formalize it, the ADO team can help you take the next step.
In the early stages, we can facilitate a brainstorming session and share examples from other associations that have successfully built alumni engagement. Once you have explored the possibilities, we advise you in shaping a clear and sustainable alumni policy — outlining your ambitions, goals, and fixed yearly activities to guide both current and future boards.
➡️ Contact your faculty alumni relations officer to discuss your ideas and possibilities.
Bring students and alumni together
Planning a reunion, networking event, or annual conference? Guidance is available to connect with relevant alumni and design activities that strengthen student–alumni ties. Advice is also provided on positioning events and aligning communication with the UT alumni network.
➡️ Contact your faculty alumni relations officer for event collaboration and alumni involvement.
Share your story with the UT alumni community
Refine messages or stories aimed at alumni, from event invitations to anniversaries. Selected activities may also be featured on UT alumni channels such as newsletters or social media.
Interested in leveraging LinkedIn? We offer workshops on how to strengthen your association’s presence and network through LinkedIn.
➡️ Reshape your storytelling or boost your visibility through LinkedIn, send your request to alumni@utwente.nl
Reach alumni effectively and responsibly
Would you like to invite alumni to your event or share a specific update? We can send mail-outs on your behalf to alumni. Guidance is provided to define your audience, prepare the right message, and ensure your communication aligns with UT guidelines.
➡️ Download the checklist and send your complete request to alumni@utwente.nl
Keep your alumni network organized and compliant
Strong alumni connections rely on accurate, up-to-date membership information. Each year, associations, foundations, and teams can share their latest list of active members. This ensures outreach remains GDPR-compliant and alumni data is reliable. Advice is also provided on safe data handling and storage practices.
➡️ Send your updated member list or GDPR-related questions to alumni@utwente.nl
Find the right type of funding for your initiative
The University of Twente offers two forms of support for student associations, teams, and foundations seeking funding for projects or activities.
a) Crowdfunding
We offer guidance throughout the entire process — from setting up crowdfunding campaigns to exploring creative ways to grow initiatives and attract supporters.
➡️ For crowdfunding initiatives, contact universiteitsfonds@utwente.nl
b) Financial Support
The Twente University Fund offers students, student organizations, researchers, and departments the opportunity to apply for financial support through a guarantee subsidy or direct subsidy for organising or participating in activities. Eligibility criteria and application procedures should be reviewed carefully.
