Bas Erlings on Inclusion, Leadership and Collaboration How we overcome Polarisation and Populism

Polarisation and populism are deepening divisions in society. They put pressure on inclusion and a sense of belonging, affecting how we collaborate, lead, and grow - both in our communities and in our organisations.

On Thursday, 11 December, we are hosting an interactive event (in Dutch) together with Saxion and IKT featuring Bas Erlings – former VVD campaign strategist under Mark Rutte and author of the bestseller The Populist’s Playbook – how they play it and how we can win. Drawing on his research into populism, Bas will explain how division works and how we can respond and deal with it more effectively.

“When people don’t feel seen, they disconnect. Inclusion starts with attention.”

Together with Bas, we will explore how students, educators, professionals, leaders and entrepreneurs can strengthen inclusion: how to ensure more people feel seen, heard, and genuinely involved. Because this is the foundation for trust, better collaboration, and meaningful progress.
