Monday 6 October 2025 16:00 - 18:00

Discover the Future of Photonics at PHIX Photonics Assembly

Are you a student, graduate, young alumnus, or PhD candidate with an interest in photonics and high-tech production? Seize this unique opportunity to get a look behind the scenes at PHIX Photonics Assembly! Located at Kennispark Twente—just a short walk from campus—this company, founded by two UT alumni, is one of the fastest-growing production companies in the Netherlands.

During this exclusive company visit, you will see how PHIX manufactures photonic chip based components and modules in scalable production volumes, serving some of the biggest and most innovative tech companies in the world.

PHIX Photonics Assembly was founded by alumni Albert Hasper and Joost van Kerkhof. Hasper obtained an MSc and PhD Degree in electrical engineering and van Kerkhof holds M.Sc and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering, specialized in micro-nano technology and (bio)sensors. Read more here.

The day is a chance for you to:

  • Experience the fascinating world of integrated photonics firsthand.
