Inspiration, ambition, and innovation, told by women in Mechanical Engineering

Why do women choose the Mechanical Engineering research field? What inspires them, what has their education offered them and how do they stand in society today? We invited four inspiring women to share their views on achieving success, career plans,  and perhaps changing this traditionally male world into one with more women.

With an engineering degree in my back pocket, I discovered my true strength lies in helping engineers succeed. As a Group Lead in Mechanical Engineering at Demcon High-Tech Systems, nothing gives me more energy than seeing talented people thrive, enjoying their work and supporting them in growing their skills.

This event is organised by the Mechanical Engineering Department (ET) in collaboration with KIVI Students Twente (KST) and KIVI Network Female Engineers (NVI).

We hope to welcome (Ph.D.) students, young professionals, career tigers, alumni, and everyone who cares about Mechanical Engineering.

What excites me most about my work is the intersection of engineering, healthcare, and innovation: creating devices that simplify medical procedures and significantly improve vaccine effectiveness & patient care. Mechanical Engineering is at the heart of this impact as it makes high-quality and highly reliable mass-scale production possible.
