You can be brilliant at solving problems. But mental health is not just another problem you can fix with your mind. And real resilience, the kind that holds up under pressure, doesn’t start in your head either. This session is about something big and still too often invisible: the mental struggles of high-performing students and professionals, and the taboos that keep us silent about them. And about what resilience truly requires: staying upright while everything around you shifts.

From Silence to Action: how to stand up in academia? This workshop builds on the call to stand up against misconduct in academia (see also ut.onl/ikstaop).Drawing on real stories, we explore how people have spoken up, supported others, or navigated unsafe working environments. Together, we examine different ways of standing up — for yourself or for others, individually or collectively. You will actively reflect, discuss, and develop realistic actions you can take in these moments, from small steps to more substantial interventions. The workshop is open to both academic and support staff, and you will leave with practical tools and more confidence to stand up and make a difference.

During the well-being weeks, “Move With Change!” focuses on improving mental and physical agility. Running therapy is a great way to do this. In small groups you’ll run or walk while working on your mental and physical health. The goal is to get out of your head and into your body, helping you relax and regain energy. This activity takes place over three weeks and starts with a trial session to see if it suits you. It can help with complaints such as stress, excessive worrying, depressive feelings, anxiety, panic attacks, and fatigue. No running experience is needed. You’ll learn to recognise your body’s signals and develop tools to set boundaries, guided by an expert.Interested? Sign up and discover if running therapy works for you.
