An association is nothing without her active members. Luckily, 4 happy feet sports a lot of them. Below, you’ll be able to find an overview of all active committees and their members. If you would like to help, look around for a committee that matches your interests!
If you’d like to contact one of the committees, use the contact form!
Ballroom Instruction Committee(InCie):
The members of this committee give and support our professional instructor Gert Rickhoff in giving the dance courses. During the lessons recognizable from the black shirts they are wearing, they help you out if you need an extra hand with figuring out a new figure or give pointers on your technique to make your dancing either a little easier or more pleasing to the eye. By keeping themselves up to date through following courses, they are very capable to explain dancing to all willing to try. They are also the people who give the gala courses. If you would like more information about those please contact the board of 4happyfeet.
This committee arranges the music during the lessons, the Thursday social dances and all 4happyfeet dancing activities, so everyone will be able to dance to their heart's content, as without music dancing would not be possible. They are also responsible for which music will be added to the collection from golden oldies to the newest hits.
What would a dancing association be without a real gala? This committee works every year towards a gala where everyone can dress up , have a drink, and dance the night away and by organizing i.e. dinner, a beautiful demo and a photo booth they create the perfect night for you and possibly your (non-)dancing plus one.
The activities committee is a mainly concerned with organizing non-dancing related activities for everyone to have fun off the dance floor as well. Limited only by their imagination and how much enthusiasm they have, the committee brings members of 4happyfeet closer together. Examples of the activities are a movie night, ice skating or wall climbing.
Once a year 4happyfeet mixes all their members into teams of every dancing level to compete against each other for winner of best team outfit/presentation, best team play, or best dancers. The more different couple combinations(even same sex is possible) you put on the dance floor, the more points you get. The teammatch committee arranges this fun evening and works hard to keep it just an organized chaos.
The team captains are the representation of the delegation of 4happyfeet at both the national and international tournaments for dancing students. They make sure the team is entered, everyone has a chance to dance at the tournament, and more!
Raad van Wijzen (Advisory committee):
To ensure continuity of the knowledge of previous boards this committee, both including old board members and active members of the association, was founded. They support the board in making decisions.
This committee checks whether the finances of the association are correct, correctly filed and up to date. They can also have a small supporting role for the treasurer if needed and consist of experienced members of 4happyfeet.
The Open Drienerloos (a.k.a. Drienerlooooos) Championship is the annual 4happyfeet championships for ballroom, Latin and salsa dancing. The main twist is that you are able, though not obliged, to enter every single dance with another dancing partner. To the committee go the credits for making sure everyone only signed up with one partner per dance and organizing the tournament.
The latinbootcamp committee (LatCie) has organized their first bootcamp in the weekend of 11 and 12 Februari 2017. This event is a weekend where you can gain and train your Latin dancing skills by attending workshops and private lessons with in between some extra music to be able to repeat what you have learned to make it stick. The committee contacts high ranking dancers to invite them to bestow their knowledge on the members of 4 happyfeet and makes sure the participants leave with heaps of information and sore muscles.
