The AERA conference in Vancouver
The annual conference by the American Educational Research Association (AERA) took place in Vancouver, Canada, between the 13th and 17th of April.
This is the world’s greatest educational conference with more than 14.000 registered attendees. Adam Handelzalts and Kim Schildkamp shared the DATATEAM® procedure as well as the first outcomes of the teams in various presentations. A lot of people attended the presentations and researchers from all over the world showed keen interest in the DATATEAM® method. The DATATEAM® procedure is especially appealing because of its structured way of working together with teachers and school leaders in order to tackle the problems in their school. The broad definition of data is yet another appealing feature of the data team project since it clearly deviates from the excessive focus on standardized central tests, which pay little attention to the context and needs of the schools, as is prevalent among Anglo-Saxon countries
