Developing new materials for more efficient solar cells, energy-saving electronics, generating energy from the transition from salted water to fresh water, and smart electricity networks. It is merely a small sample of the research conducted by the UT to limit the use of energy and materials in society.
Naturally, we are setting the right example at our campus. The UT is for example working on pushing back energy consumption by thirty percent in 2020. This will contribute substantially, because the UT’s annual consumption is 34657 MWh. The saving thus made is comparable to the electricity consumption of approximately 5600 families.
