DR.ING. LISSY LA PAIX PUELLO

Lissy La Paix

Lissy La Paix Puello, Dr. PhD (cum laude) by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (March 2012), Civil Engineer by Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (2004), Specialist in Project Management (2005), Specialist in Transport Systems (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, UPM - 2007), Master on Airport Systems (UPM, 2007. She awarded within 4 scholarships during the last years.

She has worked in transport consultancy at EPSA-LABCO - Engineering Consultancy (2004/2006), and INTECSA-INARSA (2006/2007). She was associated with the Centre of Transport Research TRANSyT-UPM and worked in several national and international research projects. In October 2009 she obtained Advanced Studies Diploma (DEA) on trip generation and location effects using discrete choice models. She has also collaborated with Polytechnic University of Valencia developing sustainable urban transport plans for workplaces (2011).

Her expertise covers transport modelling, quantitative and qualitative methods applied, accessibility and GIS analysis applied to urban transport planning and travel behaviour. In the last 4 two years she has presented around 15 papers in international and national conferences. She has collaborated in Transport and Mobility Laboratory (TRANSP-Or) at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and DTU-Transport at Technical University of Denmark. Her thesis is titled “Modelling the impact of built environment, geographical scales and latent constructs on individual travel behaviour”.
