Dr. Jan Hayes about Pipeline Research Council research

Excavation damage, health and safety meeting RMIT, Velin, UTwente

Thursday 14 July 2016, University of Twente

Dr. Jan Hayes (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) visited the University of Twente for several research meetings with her consortium partners at the EPCRC (Energy Pipeline Research Council). She passed by the University of Twente to tell about the EPCRC. Furthermore she elaborated on her research projects about, for example, the influences of the supply chain, rules and organizational structures on excavation damages. Particularly the social science viewpoint and relation to theories such as High Reliability Organizing were of great interest also for the Dutch research group. In addition to this presentation, Mark Engbersen presented on behalf of the Dutch Association of Pipe Owners (VELIN) and their ambition to significantly reduce excavation damages to the pipelines that transport hazardous materials. The two presentations can be downloaded from http://www.zoarg.com/eng/presentations-events/
