Research Project Description

PDEng research: Development of an educational program to learn how to use a ground penetrating radar

In recent years the reduction of excavation damage has been an important topic. New technologies have been developed to support careful excavation. One of these developments is the ground penetrating radar. With the ground penetrating radar the cables and pipes in the underground can be investigated without opening up the ground.

However, in order to successfully implement the ground penetrating radar, people must be educated on the use of it and the interpretation of the outcomes. This project focusses on the development of an educational program to learn how to use the ground penetrating radar and the interpretation of its results.
