Adaptive cruise control, a study on the drivers' use of ACC in different traffic conditions

This bachelor assignment is primarily aimed at providing a software tool that can be used for analysis of the drivers' use of adaptive cruise control (ACC). Two different data sets will be used as an input for the software.
The first is PeMS, a tool that collects data from detector loops all around the state of California. With these loops the traffic speed, density and flow are measured.
The second data set is from a test vehicle used by PATH, a program of UC Berkeley. This vehicle is continuously recording parameters such as GPS coordinates, ACC usage and velocity.
The assignment is to synchronize these data sets and to implement that in a tool such as Google Maps. The result will be a browser based software tool that, with a user input of time and location, can show the drivers' use of ACC in different traffic conditions. With the help of the software we can analyse the relationship between the choices a driver makes regarding ACC and traffic conditions.
