Ton de Jong, professor in instructional technology has been appointed fellow of the American Educational Research Association. The AERA Fellows Program was established by the AERA Council to honor education researchers with substantial research accomplishments, to convey the Association’s commitment to excellence in research, and to emphasize to new scholars the importance of sustained research of excellence in the field. AERA, founded in 1916, is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and evaluation and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results. AERA is the most prominent international professional organization, with the primary goal of advancing educational research and its practical application. AERA has around 25.000 members of which around 100 have been appointed fellow.
