NWO is involved in CHIST-ERA-net. Currently, two calls have been opened:
29 Oct 2015 - 1,2 M-euro for the Creative Industry programme, Thematic research
NWO has allocated 1,2 M-€ for two projects within the Creative Industry programme, on the edge of ICT and humanities. One project concerns the development of search engine technology for scientific databases (UT is not involved), the other project 'Making Sense of Illustrated Handwritten Archives' searches digitised archives through artificial intelligence. UT is a partner in this project (information in Dutch).
28 Oct 2015 - Dutch tax authorities choose University of Twente to monitor phasing out of ‘blue envelope’
Dutch Finance Minister Eric Wiebes wants the Dutch tax authorities (Belastingdienst) to move to exclusively digital correspondence. The tax authorities are therefore looking for assistance to ensure that the introduction of digital correspondence with citizens runs smoothly. The University of Twente and the tax authorities have signed a cooperation agreement on monitoring the introduction of electronic messaging.

23 Oct 2015 - UT contributes to best Master's thesis in Information Technology at German university
Sebastian Junges (RWTH Aachen University) has won the FTI Preis 2015 for his Master's thesis 'Simplifying Dynamic Fault Trees by Graph Reduction'. The prize is awarded annually by the FTI (an umbrella organization of German Information Technology faculties) to the author of the best Master's thesis in Information Technology at a German university. The prize includes the monetary sum of €2,500. Mr Junges was supervised in the writing of his Master's thesis by Information Technology scientists Joost-Pieter Katoen (RWTH Aachen and University of Twente) and Mariëlle Stoelinga (University of Twente).

The Call for proposals NWO Veni recently has been opened. It is targeted at recently (max. 3 years) graduated excellent PhD-students (information in Dutch).
22 Oct 2015 - 40 M-€ for ICT research in the coming years
In the years 2016-2017 about 40 M-€ will be invested in ICT Research. NWO will contribute with 20 M-€, TNO with 12 M-€ and the Ministry of Economic Affairs 7 M-€.
