After het PhD research at the Telematica Instituut in Enschede, Lidwien van de Wijngaert worked as an assistant professor at the Department for Information and Computing Sciences at Utrecht University. As of september 2008 she works at the Department of Media Communication and Organisation at the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences of Utrecht University.
