Saving lives in a true to life setting
"If you did not know any better, you would think that you are in a real hospital here. From the simulated operating theatre to the Intensive Care, everything in the ECTM is true to life. This is just as well, because we have to be fully prepared for everything we can expect in our future work environment. For example, we practice with laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, stitching, injecting, reanimating. In addition, we make ourselves familiar with new treatments and physiological processes. It is very important to know how and why a patient responds to certain interventions. A special piece of equipment is the Human Patient Simulator, an innovative doll with a heartbeat, respiration, blood circulation and other human characteristics. When you work with the doll, you really feel the adrenalin in your body!"
