Inaugural lecture Prof.dr. Erik Arnold

Professor Erik Arnold (Faculty of Management and Governance, StePS Department) holds his inaugural lecture in the Waaier's Breedeveld room on Thursday 27 October. Entitled ‘Understanding the Long-Term Impacts of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development.’ Arnold’s lecture first focuses on the development of the popular European research funding program which was founded in 1984. After this time, the professor of international innovation policy consideredsome of the program's most important effects. Besides short term effects such as building networks, on the longer term, he advocates the establishment of new disciplines, creating and strengthening the wider European research community tofocus attention on major societal and industrial problems.
