Expertise

Olga Kulyk is universitair docent bij het Centrum voor eHealth, vakgroep Psychologie, Gezondheid en Technologie (PGT). Haar expertise zijn: user centered design en persuasive eHealth technologie. Huidige onderzoek van Olga richt zich op ontwerp, evaluatie en implementatie van eHealth technologie ter bevordering van de gezonde leefstijl van jongeren en zelf-management van patiënten met chronische aandoeningen. Zij werkt hierbij samen met Prof. Dr. Lisette van Gemert-Pijnen (UT) en Dr. Silke David bij het Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (RIVM).

Olga heeft meer dan negen jaar zowel academisch als industrieel ervaring en multidisciplinaire expertise in user centred design (UCD), informatie visualisatie, awareness applicaties en Computer-supported collaborative work (CSCW). She coordinated complex interaction design projects in various domains, such as life sciences, healthcare, education and software engineering. Human-computer interaction (HCI) skills: user profiling (focus groups, task analysis, interviewing, cultural probes, personas), ethnography, video prototyping (scenarios, storyboarding), participatory design, usability evaluation (thinking aloud, focus groups, co-discovery etc.), large display design (situational awareness, peripheral displays).

De afgelopen jaren heeft Olga zich onder andere bezig gehouden met user-centered design, ontwerp en evaluatie van awareness services, decision aids en mobiele applicaties. Zij werkte hierbij onder andere samen met diverse organisaties zoals Redmond, T-Xchange (Thales NL Research), Nederlandse Centrum voor Bioinformatica (NBIC), MicroArray Department/ Integrative Bioinformatics Unit en Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU).

Olga heeft in 2010 haar promotieonderzoek afgerond aan de Universiteit Twente bij de vakgroep Human Media Interactie. Haar promotieonderzoek ging over ondersteuning van de besluitvormingsproces van multidisciplinaire teams door middel van user-centered design en interactieve visualisaties in smart multi-scherm vergaderomgevingen. Proefschrift: “Do you know what I know? Situational awareness of co-located teams in multidisplay environments”.

Olga is reviewer voor diverse internationale conferenties en tijdschriften (JMIR, Health Policy & Technology). Ze was invited editor van een special issue van LNCS Tutorial Human-Centered Visualization Environments, invited program committee member for eTelemed conference (eTelemed 2014 & eTelemed 2015), organisator NSRII 2014, en co-organisator van de eHealth Workshop bij ICBM 2014 en Persuasive 2015.

Lopende onderzoeksprojecten

Sense eHealth: ePublic Health en nieuwe media ter bevordering van gezonde leefstijl en seksuele gezondheid van jongeren.

Olga houdt zich bezig met het ontwerp en de implementatie van de landelijke eHealth ondersteuning om de seksuele gezondheid van jongeren te bevorderen.  Vanuit het oogpunt van verschillende stakeholders (klanten, hulpverleners, public health organisaties enz.) wordt bepaald op welke manier de eHealth services optimaal ingezet kunnen worden. Hierbij wordt gebruik gemaakt van een stepped care implementatie aanpak om een optimale, laagdrempelige digitale en face-to-face hulpverlening voor elke type cliënt (binnen de doelgroep jongeren onder 25) te bieden met maximale kosteneffectiviteit.

Het project is een samenwerking van de Universiteit Twente, het Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (RIVM) en het Ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport (VWS).
