On January 23rd, 2006, Professor Michael W. Carter from the Healthcare Resource Modeling Laboratory, University of Toronto, Canada is invited by Beta to give a presentation about his research in the field of operations research in health care. This Beta colloquium will take place at University of Twente, in "Horsttoren 1300", starting from 12:30.
OR/OM research in health care is becoming increasingly popular in the Netherlands, due to the increasing health care expenditure and long waiting lists. Also within Beta research is done in this field, but cooperation among researchers of TUE and UT is very limited. Therefore, in addition to the presentation of Professor Carter, other Beta-researchers are invited to give a short presentation (20 minutes) about their current or recent research in health care. This meeting thus gives opportunity to meet fellow Beta-researchers who work in this field. We look for contributions from all different fields within Beta. Depending on the number of presentations, the meeting will end no later than 17:00. The meeting will be presided by Professor Richard Boucherie, chair of the group Stochastic Processes in Telecommunications and Logistics at the University of Twente.
The meeting is also sponsored by CTIT (Centre for Telematics and Information Technology) of the University of Twente, which is the largest academic ICT research institute in the Netherlands. The coordinator of the CTIT-SRO “eHealth” (ICT in health care), dr. Manfred Reichert, will give an overview presentation of “ICT-research in health care” done at the University of Twente.
Those interested in attending this meeting, please contact the meeting organizer Erwin Hans (firstname.lastname@example.org / tel. 053-489 3523). Please do so as soon as possible.
