Wieke Haakma (Health Sciences and Technical Medicine) has presented her MSc thesis work at the SMDM meeting in Chicago. The title of her contribution was “expert elicitation to populate early health economic models in medical diagnostic device development”. In her thesis work she estimate probability distribution function for the diagnostic performance of photoacoustic imaging in the breast cancer diagnostic track. With techniques like expert elicitation we try to reduce the uncertainty in medical device development before the actual clinical data collection commences. The work relates to the workprogram early Health Technology Assessment within the Center for Medical Imaging – NEN (CMI-NEN).
