Excellent student performance during the annual Health Sciences symposium
On October, 24 2014 the annual poster presentations were organized following the MSc course Clinical Efficacy & Health Technology Assessment. Twelve different groups presented the results of their investigation into the effectiveness and efficiency of selected healthcare technologies.
This year’s performance sky-rocketed to an unexpected high level, and students had done a nice job compiling a comprehensive poster. Topics addressed included new technologies for screening for melanoma (Melafind), stereotactic radiosurgery in metastasized brain tumours, artificial kidney, brachytherapy for bladder cancer, CRP testing in the GP office and many more. The winners of the 2014 poster award were the groups presenting on neurostimulation in epilepsy and MRI guided biopsy in prostate cancer.
