Magda Boere-Boonekamp, a Youth Health Care physician, fulfills a part-time assignment as an associate professor at the School of Management and Governance of the Twente University. For 25 years, she was a practicing/staff doctor in (YHC) in several Child Health Care centres in Twente. She is familiar and up-to-date with all developments in the field of YHC.

Since 2011, she is a project leader in the Academic Working Place Youth Twente. Since February 2013, she coordinates the project linked to the Consortium Pregnancy and Childbirth in Overijssel.

Research projects in the field of preventive child health care: developmental dysplasia of the hip (implementation of ultrasound screening), positional preference in infants, helmet treatment in deformed skulls, Vitamin D suppletion, breastfeeding, postpartum depression, overweight and obesity, child development, child abuse and neglect, and child mortality.

Research projects in the field of pregnancy and perinatal period: aftercare of neonates-at-risk, coordination of care.

She is a member of a number of national committees: the Scientific Advisory Board of the Netherlands Center Youth Health Care (NCJ), the Committee on Population Screening of The Health Council of the Netherlands, the databank Effective Interventions of NCJ/NJI).

As a member the Committee on Population Screening of The Health Council of the Netherlands, she contributed to the publication of 17 advisory reports in the period 2011-2015 (

She is also a member of the editorial board of the Netherlands Textbook of Youth Health Care. She is Editor in chief of the Netherlands Journal of Youth Health Care.
