Requirements and admission
Potential candidates are students with a master’s degree in a relevant discipline (usually social sciences). Relevant professional experience is welcomed.
Ph.D. students at CHEPS can be full-time or part-time, internal or external students. A combination with professional work is possible.
It should be stressed, however, that a Ph.D. at CHEPS is above all an academic degree, with a heavy research and theoretical emphasis. Persons with a more professionally driven interest may find that their needs are better served by, for instance, the DBA in Higher Education Management at the University of Bath.
Candidates at CHEPS are selected on the basis of an assessment of their quality, shown in prior academic work, their current academic level, their motivation and a proposal outlining the research they intend to undertake.
CHEPS does not have a fixed deadline for applications. However, our capacity to supervise Ph.D.s is limited. Therefore, please contact the Ph.D. coordinator before filling out an application form. The Application form can be found here.
