Supervision of a Ph.D. student at CHEPS normally is by two senior CHEPS staff members. One of them is the official promotor, the other the supervisor. The student will meet on a regular basis with the promotor and/or supervisor. For a fulltime internal student the frequency will be approximately one meeting per month. Besides, more frequent informal meetings are the norm for Ph.D. students working at CHEPS.
The Ph.D. process and outcome is overseen by the promotor, a professor at CHEPS (see: CHEPS staff). In certain cases, a second promoter (professor external to CHEPS) may be involved. The promoter is appointed in relation to the research focus of the Ph.D. and his/her availability.
Next to the promotor, a senior researcher at CHEPS supervises the Ph.D. work and is the assistant promotor of the Ph.D.
