CHEPS Ph.D. competencies

The holder of a CHEPS Ph.D. degree has specialised/advanced knowledge on a particular aspect of higher education (dissertation topic), and is able to:

conduct social science research, i.e. to produce specialised and advanced knowledge on empirical issues in the field of social sciences based on adequate theoretical frameworks and appropriate research methods.

participate and contribute to the higher education debate at large and in the wider context of public policy, socio-economic developments, etc.

·

disseminate knowledge on higher education to different audiences (e.g., higher education professionals, students, policy makers, the research cummunity, journalists, the general public, etc.) in different forms (e.g. publications of various kinds, lectures, training seminars, conferences, etc.).

·

apply knowledge to areas of policy and practice, in preparation of roles such as a policy maker or advisor, consultant, project leader, etc.
