Policy and ICT; development of instruments
In 2003 Petra Boezerooy started working on her PhD project, which focuses on the different strategic responses higher education institutions develop with regard to the implementation of ICT in their education functions.
In the first phase of the PhD, based on a theoretical framework derived from the contingency theory literature, the focus is on the environment of the institutions. This is seen as important as for it is expected that higher education instituitons develop strategies and policies, dependent on their analysis/interpretation of this environmentstrategies and policies, dependent on their analysis/interpretation of this environment.
In the second phase of the PhD, based on a theoretical framework derived from strategy and management literature, the focus is on the variety of actual strategic responses higher education institutions deploy.
