"I discovered the University of Twente through some professors from my institution in Brazil, and after deeply exploring UT’s website, I realized how connected it is to my own personal and professional aspirations."
Hey everyone! My name is Cassiano and, since August 2019, I am pursuing a Master’s of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation at the University of Twente. I was born and raised in Castro, a small town (in the Brazilian context, because it is almost the size of Enschede) in Southern Brazil that is home of a tiny Dutch village (Castrolanda), but in 2013 I moved to Curitiba to undertake a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, from which I graduated last year.

Здравейте! Hello guys, my name is Vladislav Avramov and I am studying for my BSc in Technical Computer Science. I am 19 years old. Having a new subject every week is kind of exciting and tempting, learning so many new things one after another in my studies. I am becoming more and more convinced that every day spent here is actually meaningful and impactful. Everything about the subjects in the program is exactly as I imagined it – practical and useful.

Hello! My name is Akash Basu and I am currently a First Year Masters student of Biomedical Engineering. Being born into a family consisting of solely doctors, I was always an odd apple. Although I enjoyed the medical sciences I have always had a strong love towards numbers and mathematics. In India people either do an engineering course or become a doctor but I wanted something more, something out of the box so I decided why not merge the two fields altogether! That’s when I landed into the beautiful world of biomedical engineering and all its endless possibilities.

"Science can amuse and fascinate us all, but it is engineering that changes the world.”
Hello! My name is Heni Ju. I was born and raised in a small island of Indonesia called Batam. I am currently a first year MSc student of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Twente. I have always had a strong passion for mathematics and science since I was a kid. Engineering seems to be the best way to combine the fundamentals of logical and analytical aspects of these subjects and you can relate these to everything in life. The idea of designing something and to have the opportunity to make real differences attracted me to choose this study. My favourite thing about studying first my BSc and now my MSc Mechanical engineering at UT is that the projects offered are more involved and exciting. The university is incredible and the teachers are outstanding and passionate about their subjects. I also love the city. It’s just an amazing place to live and be a student!

If you have any questions regarding anything related to studying, living, and application procedure, don’t hesitate to drop me a message in our Indonesian Facebook page: Studi Twente!

Hello! I am Ioana, and I am a second year BSc student at the University of Twente. I currently study Psychology (BSc), and I am also following the Processes of Change track of the Honours programme. I am an empathic person, but also a rational thinker. I like the clarity given by planning, quality information and a good structure. Simultaneously, I have a natural curiosity towards people and the relationships between them. I believe that this makes me a good learner.
