Objectives
This project will explore the extent to which wetland protection policies succeed in the Netherlands and the United States, and how can the processes of implementation of relevant policies in these countries explain this. It will also examine a number of secondary questions:
- |
What are the main threats and opportunities for wetland nature in NL and US? |
- |
What are the most relevant policies that affect these issues? |
- |
What actors are involved in the implementation processes of these policies? |
- |
What is the cause and effects of these implementation policies? |
- |
To what extent can these cause and effects be explained by the characteristics of the actors involved? |
- |
To what extent does the different contexts of the NL and the US influence the actor characteristics, the cause and effect of implementation processes, and the nature of the policies involved? |
