Department of Science, Technology, Health and Policy Studies
The Department of Science, Technology, Health and Policy Studies (STeHPS) takes the assessment and governance of innovations and emerging technologies as its central theme of teaching and research. STeHPS considers in particular strategic issues that are multidisciplinary: they involve developments in science, technology, politics and society, as well as interaction between them. Studies conducted within STeHPS link analytical and normative perspectives, and consider not only technological innovations but also innovations in governance.
The STeHPS staff teaches in various bachelor and master programmes, and coordinates the master programmes of Health Sciences, Policy Studies in Public Administration, and Science and Technology Studies in Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society. The staff also contributes to programmes of technical faculties at the University of Twente as well as the international master programme European Studies.
