New Coordination Team for the Twente Water Centre

As of October 1, 2011 there are a few new faces to be seen at the Twente Water Centre. Following the initial 4 year term of Arjen Hoekstra as the Chair of the TWC, Hans Bressers has taken over the leadership of this clustering of water research at the University of Twente. As part of the Institute for Governance Studies (IGS), a large focus of this group is on Water Governance research and studies. Water research at the University of Twente is however much broader than this! As part of this new term, Hans will be pushing this group to work together to address various external issues through inter-disciplinary collaboration. Meeting the needs of society is a great way to encourage the breaking down of faculty and research group barriers since societal issues generally require understanding of the social as well as physical or natural phenomenon involved.

Supporting Hans in this new role will be Cheryl de Boer as the new Coordinator of the TWC. Hans and Cheryl both reside in CSTM (the Twente Centre for Studies in Technology and Sustainable Development at the University of Twente) and so the TWC activities will be supported directly from our offices in the Ravelijn Builind, room 4107.
