APPLY for an ISBN (and DOI)

If you want to publish a dissertation independently, you must apply for an ISBN (International Standard Book Number). Within 3 days, Library & Archive will send you an e-mail with the ISBN and a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). The cost of an ISBN is € 43.

DOCTORATE REGULATIONS

As required by the promotion rules (article 16 and 17), researchers who want to take their doctoral degree have to hand in:

·	Two copies of the dissertation (the book)

·	If applicable, two copies of the companying propositions

·	A digital version of the dissertation with cover ; upload your publication

·	An English-language-summary of 250-words (max. 350 words) double-spaced

· the collection and catalogue of the University Library Twente

· the collection and catalogue of Koninklijke Bibliotheek (National Library of the Netherlands)

·  UT Publications, the repository with the scientific output of the University of Twente

Inclusion of your dissertation in UT Publications, makes it traceable in NARCIS and via the international search engines Google (Scholar), OAIster, Scientific Commons and BASE. This increases the availability, visibility, the recognition, and the citation score of your scientific work.
