Van Dale Groot Woordenboek Spanish, 2008

In order to use this database, you have to comply to the following criteria:

  • use an Active Directory Account
  • use Windows XP professional edition (for accessing the secure database-server)
  • close all (Microsoft) office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Please take notice that you need to have sufficient installation rights on your computer, otherwise installation will fail. In that case contact your ICT support offfice.
The Van Dale Spanish dictionary (2008 edition), client install is offered in two versions:
  • workstation install: use of the MS Word toolbar, BUT the database resides on the server, so network connection is required!
  • laptop install: use of the MS Word toolbar, databases are copied (approx. 400Mb) to your PC (for off-line use)


Warning: both client installations will take a substantial amount of time!
After clicking the link, it will take some time for the install dialog screen to appear.

During install, you can choose the following options:


The first option adds a van Dale toolbar to MS Word.



After installation, startup is possible using the Windows startbutton.

In incidental cases (when Office XP was upgraded to Office 2003), the toolbar is not shown in MS Word. In that case, copy this folder to your PC (C:\Macro) and modify in MS Word the startup directory
In MS Word: Tools/options, tab: file locations (extra/opties, tab: bestandslocaties)
